“Daniel’s Answer to the King” is a painting by the British artist Briton Rivière, completed in 1890. Inspired by the biblical Book of Daniel, it depicts the moment after Daniel has survived a night in the lions’ den, protected by God because of his unwavering faith.
Standing calmly among the lions, Daniel looks upward toward the light while the animals remain peaceful around him. Rather than emphasizing fear or violence, the painting reflects divine protection, faith, and quiet confidence in the face of death.
Rivière’s work has become one of the most recognizable artistic interpretations of the story of Daniel. It symbolizes courage, steadfast belief, and the idea that inner peace can exist even in the most dangerous circumstances.

• Air dry only — no tumble dryer, no direct sunlight
• Iron inside out at 150–200°C with steam
• Do not iron directly on embroidery — use a cloth barrier
